Anambra State Police Command says it received a report of how armed men using keke to operate escape lynching from a brave man who used a car to knock down their keke before they escaped.
Based on an eyewitness’s account, two unidentified boys were sitting at the back seat of the captured tricycle, locally codenamed ,” Keke Napep” in Awka, as passengers with someone riding the Keke as a tricyclist searching for innocent passengers to convey to their final destination.
Behold, when a woman saw the Keke enroute Express via Igwebuike Road,Awka, the woman who was rushing for a business meeting in the early morning, innocently entered the Keke.
As the Keke moved towards Igwebuike Grammar School’ s gate, the suspected robbers begun to rob the woman of her valuable , and the woman raised an alarm, to alert other road users
That when a man driving behind the Keke heard the voice of the said woman, crying for help, the said man used his car to hit the Keke from behind and the Keke felled into a gutta along Igwebuike Road.
However, the suspected robbers flew for safety while the woman was trapped by the Keke inside the gutta.
The man who struck the Keke with his car, alighted his car, rescued the woman and set the newly branded Keke Napep on fire, and the Keke burned beyond recognition.
