2 Days To LGA Elections In Rivers State: 16 Political Parties Accuse PDP/RSIEC Of Writing Results, Withholding Funds & Frustrating Other Parties

Different political party candidates who spoke at the meeting called for a level playing ground by RSIEC and the security agencies in Rivers State have complained that The Rivers state Independent electoral Commission Is not giving them a level playing ground to contest fairly and Favorable in the forth coming Local Government Elections in the State.

Some of the Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates contesting under the Listed 17 Political Parties Participating in the Local government elections coming up on Saturday 17th April 2021  told the commissioner of police that they have been poorly treated and appeal that RSIEC Be Fair, Equitable in discharging the mandate entrusted to them by the State.No description available.

The Commissioner of police urge them to maintain the peaceful status quo as the State does not want to be dragged into another round of Violence  over an elections. CP EBOKA FRIDAY Had in his earlier speech asked those who win to show magnanimity by extending olive branches to their opponents and for those who loose to play the Sportsmanship role by congratulating the winners for peaceful Co-existence.

However Shortly after the peace meeting, some chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates contesting under various Political parties  told Newsmen they are not happy with the way RSIEC under Justice Omereji has been conducting the process.

The Chairmanship Candidate Under the platform Of African Democratic Congress (ADC)  of Port Harcourt Local Government Area and other stakeholders cry out, He said he has been all over the news demanding for RSIEC to do the right things, he alleged that information’s at his disposal indicates that PDP has written results. that he has confronted the RSIEC officials to ensure that both sensitive and non sensitive results will be taken to the polling units, for the avoidance of what some PDP Candidates has been boosting about writing results which they claimed is in government house, so as not make them and their supporters to waste their time in going through the hub.No description available.
The Candidate of Social Democratic Party SDP In DEGEMA LGA  Allege that all the ADHOC Staff of RSIEC are card carrying members of PDP, He said the process of  becoming an ADHOC Staff was advertised and people applied but that out of the 100 persons that applied in Degema LGA non of them was picked, or invited for interviews but to his amazement only card carrying members of PDP in the community came back to say they have been chosen as ADHOC Staffs, He appeals to the Governor, to allow the people to make the choice of who leads them,  He said today is his Birthday  would really appreciate it if the Governor can allow a free playing ground for parties in the elections as Birthday Gifts for him.

Our correspondent reports that candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party,  all seems not to be bothered as They all left the venue to return to their various LGA’s.

The Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, in Eleme LGA, Boosted that he is more on ground than the candidate of the PDP, He also lamented that RSIEC only empowered PDP Candidates for the elections That is why they are not in involved in Large crowd Rallies and campaigns.

Action Alliance Congress  For OMUMA LGA said no there is no need to participate in Saturday’s elections Because what the PDP is doing is a Jamboree to waste peoples resources.  He asked how can we go into elections that the Results is already out? He allege that PDP Stalwarts of the Local government was intimidating them with evidence of already written results, he also hinted that the Billions released to RSIEC for the Elections only got to PDP Contestants and not to the other Parties.
