Governor Hope Uzodinma’s House In Awo-Mmamma Allegedly Set On Fire By Unknown Arsonist

Arsonist has  allegedly set the country home of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma on fire.

The mansion in his village- Awo mmamma, Omuma in Orlu East local government area of Imo State was seen in a video posted online going up in flames and residents were calling on the those living inside the compound to call fire service men to put out the fire. Report reaching us says firefighters who immediately arrived the scene were seen battling the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

Earlier in the morning we gathered  that there was reports of heavy gunshots at Awo-mmama in Imo State as the Army reportedly engage the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in fierce gun battle. as at the time of filling this report no group has claimed responsibility.

The Imo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, confirmed the incident

He also confirmed that two security men at the governor’s house lost their lives during the attack.

The commissioner for information however told The PUNCH,  correspondent “It is true, but the information is not still clear. It is not true that several security men lost their lives. About two security men on duty at the governor’s house were killed. One NSCDC personnel was among the security men who lost their lives during the attack
