8 Security Men Feared Dead Following Attack By Suspected Unknown Gunmen Along Omagwa To Elele In Rivers State

Rampaging “unknown gunmen Seems to have infiltrated into Rivers State. Last night, some Policemen, Army  and Customs officers, are feared dead at various checkpoints along Omagwa To Elele  axis last night.No description available.

Report says Eight security men were killed last night when the unknown gunmen attacked various security check points along Omagwa to Elele road. Out of the 8 personnel killed, 3 of them are Airforce personnel, 3 are Custom personnel while 2 are of police. Some of them were beheaded.No description available.

We also gathered that the Gunmen are suspected to be IPOB/ESN Members who may have attacked the two security check points at about 23:30pm of 24th April, 2021 in Rivers State. A source said  the attacks by the gunmen were carried out simultaneously on the JTF checkpoint along Airport Road, Omagwa and Customs checkpoint at Isiokpo both in Rivers State.

He said “two burnt corpses were recovered at the JTF checkpoint. While three were recovered at the Customs checkpoint.No description available.

“A rifle each was stolen from the JTF and Customs Officers while two Hilux Pick-up vans with sirens were also carted away from the Customs, Then they proceeded to  attack Isiokpo Police Area Command but Policemen repelled them.No description available.

As at the time of this report the Police public Relations Officer, NNAMDI OMONI is yet to respond to the text message sent to his phone asking for a confirmation of the incident. Neither have the Army PRO Also responded to his own text messageNo description available.


 A Facebook user identified as UKECHI Smith Akor  also confirmed that ”We received information that gunmen suspected to be IPOB/ESN members attacked security men at Airport junction, Omagwa and later proceeded to burn Ikwerre Local Govt Council Secretariat before members of OSPAC resisted them.
