The Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, COOU, Igbariam, Professor Greg.C.Nwakoby, on behalf of the Council and Management of the University, through this press release informs the general public that there are no problems whatsoever with the University and any section of the community.
The University Management does not know anything about what has happened around it as such didn’t occur in the University Community

Students are advised therefore to stop running helter-skelter and stay in campus as lectures are ongoing.
The Management of the University heard of the event like others, and as posted in the social media.
No student of the University was killed as was rumored by the public.
Parents are therefore advised to remain calm as their wards are protected as security has. been beefed up within the University and around it.

According to eye witness report Unknown Gunmen murder an entire family in Anambra ”There is currently pandemonium in Igbariam junction, Anambra State, as community members mostly students of Anambra State University, are moving out of the area following an attack on a Fulani household.
According to multiple reports, the residents woke up this morning to lifeless bodies of a family with their cows littered across the streets. A source said, it is believed the tragic incident occurred last night and residents are moving out for fear of losing their lives.
“Some unknown gunmen attacked where the Fulanis were staying and slaughtered most of them and their cows. It has caused a lot of panic as this happened close to the students’ lodges. We’re calling on the state government to provide security.”
