Security Personnel In Govt. School Decries Non Payment Of 6Months Salary Due To Non -Availability Of Imprest By Rivers Government

Some security personnel in Rivers state Government school have cried out over non payment of salary for six months.
One of the security personnel in a secondary school in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers state Suanu Tee a married man and a father of four children in a telephone interview with our reporter revealed that they have not received salary for six months now and when they enquire from their Principal, he said the school has not been able to pay because the Rivers State Government has not given Secondary Schools imprest where they derive the money in paying the security personnel and running the daily activities of the school.
Mr Tee lamented the untold hardship he is facing for six months he has not been paid.
Another security personnel in a secondary in Khana local Government area, Kiiki Nakabari  a married man and a father of seven children urged the Rivers state Government to give the imprest to the schools so that they the security personnel can be paid.
Mr Nakabari disclosed that he has not been able to meet up to some financial obligations because of the development.
We gathered that the Rivers State Government has not given imprest for 1st and 2nd term which is meant for running of the school including payment of security personnel,buying of writing materials, clearing of grasses amongst others.
