Newspaper Vendors Raise Alarm Over Police Confiscation Of Newspapers, Indiscriminate Arrest Of Sympathisers Of IPOB At Education Bus Stop

Report by Newspaper Vendors at Education Bus Stop Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt.

Indiscriminate arrest of vendors and confiscation of newspapers at various newsstand ongoing in Port Harcourt by security personnel in search of purported distributors of Biafra Newspaper. Two vendors arrested yesterday and their papers including national dailies like The Nation,Thisday ,Sun etc were confiscated.
There is also a report of indiscriminate and arbitrary arrest of suspected Pro-IPOB members and their sympathisers in the State.

Some Journalist were arrested on Monday and some paid money to bail themselves on Monday at newspaper Vendors at the same education bus stop, Though the State Police PPRO Nnamdi Omoni  is yet to react to the information, and the call by some Journalist on the above information. we suspect that the arrest is part of measures but in place by the state security agencies to clamp down on activities of IPOB and their sympathisers  in port Harcourt
