The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Chris Owolabi, says normalcy has been restored to the rattled Obosi community, Idemili North local government area, following Thursday’s early morning attack on Obosi Police station by yet to be identified gunmen. The attackers razed the station, killing two police officers on duty in the process.
However, the new CP, Owolabi, has detailed a Police Crack Team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police in-charge of Operations to identify and apprehend the yet to be identified gunmen, who without warrant and provocation, violently attacked Obosi Police Station.
The Crack Team had visited the scene and conducted on-the-spot assessment of the incident.
The CP also reveals that investigation is ongoing to identify the perpetrators of this heinous crime, even as the CP commiserating with families and friends of the police Operatives. The charred remains of the Officers , facilities and dilapidated structure of what used to be the Obosi Police station was seen.
The Police are still racking their Brains as to how the gunmen gained access to the station, as the Police hierarchy in the state is brainstorming on how to apprehend the perpetrators of the crime. A heavy presence of the members of the Police crack team were also seen well positioned around the scene of the crime.
