Neighborhood Safety Corps Seeks Media Assistance In Unbiased Reportage, Promoting Security Issues In Rivers State

The Director General of Neighborhood Safety Corps Agency, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Uche Mike Chukwuma ,retired , has promised to partner with the media in promoting security in the state .

DG, Neighborhood Watch, Mike-Chukwuma who made this known during a courtesy visit by the Nigerian Association of Women Journalist, NAWOJ urged them to promote professional ethics in terms of reporting.

He assured that soon people will begin to know the activities of Neighborhood watch as soon as they stabilize adding that a secured environment attracts investors.

The Chairman of the Association, Susan Serekara- Nwikhana said the essence of the visit to the Agency is to demand for press unit to be created in the Agency and gender desk to help address women issue.No description available.

The Director General of Neighborhood Safety Corps Agency, Uche Mike Chukwuma , has pledged to partner the media in promoting security in the state .

Mike-Chukwuma who made this known during a courtesy visit by the Nigerian Association of Women Journalist, NAWOJ in his office, urged them to promote professional ethics by upholding the tenets of professionalism as to attract trust and confidence from the Society.

The DG who described NAWOJ as a very important factor in nation building, stressed the need for Journalists in the state to amplify the voice of the Society and also keep them abreast with accurate and unbiased information.

He assured that the Agency has fully started its operations and an enlightenment campaign will be carried out in all the Local Government Areas on the workings of the agency adding that a secured environment attracts investors.

Earlier, The Chairperson of the Association, Susan Serekara- Nwikhana said the essence of the visit to the Agency was to seek for the establishment of a gender desk to help address women issue and the creation of a Press Unit.

Serekara Nwikhana added that the Association is willing to partner and collaborate with the agency.
