Rivers Records Partial Compliance: IPOB Cannot Make A sit-at-home Order In Rivers State – Gov Wike,

by Anita Ogona
With all due respect, I have always said this and I will continue to say it: IPOB cannot make a sit-at-home order in Rivers State. It doesn’t exist in Rivers State because Rivers State is not a state in the South-East, Rivers State is a Niger Delta State in South-South zone.
I am not saying that the South-East states shouldn’t obey their sit-at-home order, I am not against IPOB activities in the South-East but what I am saying is that such orders doesn’t include Rivers State because we are not part of them. They cannot do it in Rivers State
Governor Nyesom Wike.

Earlier this year we released the sum of N9bn to the Rivers State University for the building, furnishing and equipping of three campuses of the University in Etche, Emuoha & Ahoada East LGAs. Today the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof Ndowa N Lale performed the foundation laying ceremony for the Emuoha Campus and work has commenced on the project.
In addition to these three campuses we have decided to establish a fourth campus in the Ogoni area. We expect all the campuses to be completed by mid next year so the faculties can run with the school’s academic calender next year.
We are not only using the multi-campus model to stimulate development across our state but we also want to ensure more of our people have access to quality education in their localities.
