by Anita Ogona

The Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has suspended  the Directorate of Students Affairs (DOS) of National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS) who allegedly went to girls hostel in the school to steal before he was apprehended and handed over to security men.

A Letter from the IAUE Management Reads:

SUSPENSION FROM STUDIES – MR JOHNSON LEYIRA

The Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has suspended the following student from studies:

Mr. Johnson Leyira – UE/2017/POL SC/B.Sc.ED4/0244 from Pol. Science Dept and the DOS of NURSS.

It was alleged that Mr. Leyira vandalized school property and stole from the Girls Hostel at an unholy hour.

Meanwhile, he was been handed over to the police for further interrogation. His case has also been referred to the Senate Disciplinary Committee to decide his fate with regard to his studentship here.

Let me salute the courage of our gallant students who apprehended him and who also prevented him from being mobbed. That is how it ought to be. Please do not kill them – these bad elements – who will not allow us to live in peace. Just hand them over to the security and allow justice to take its natural course. We assure you that we will not spare them if found guilty.  The DOS is Now in Police net. A student leader meant to protect interest of students is now perpetuating the  act
