80% Of Persons Screened Of Hepatitis Have Little Or No Knowledge Of That Such Killer Disease Exist

Over eighty percent of persons screened of the Hepatitis said they have no knowledge that such killer disease exists.
Some men and women who were screened during an awareness campaign put together by the Viral Hepatitis Association of Nigeria in collaboration with eleven Rotary clubs in Port Harcourt, as part of activities to mark the World Hepatitis day, said they just got knowledge of the disease during the campaign.Lab Technician of the Viral Hepatitis Association of Nigeria Chika Obi told our correspondent that two persons out of over one hundred persons tested for the disease tested positive while four persons who tested negative took the vaccination. Chika Obi said while it’s sad to note that Nigerians don’t invest on their health, he called on other like bodies to collaborate to make the vaccines against the killer Hepatitis accessible to the people so as to stop increasing cases of the disease.

Meanwhile the President of Rotary club of Port Harcourt, Mike Ezeanya said Rotary international will continue to carry out projects that will improve the health and livelihood of the people.
