Land Tussle: Court Dismisses Land Claims By Rumuwegu People, Says Contentious Land Belongs To Rumunduru In Obio/Akpor LGA Rivers State

State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has delivered judgment upholding the Supreme court judgment that the portion of land the Rumuwegu people is laying claim to belong to the Rumunduru people of Oro-Igwe town Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Justice Chiwendu Nworgu delivered the judgment after some buyers of the land including the people of Rumuwegu in Eneka claimed that the Supreme Court judgment does not affect the contentious land.
Justice Nworgu however dismissed the suit on the grounds that it lacks merit. Meanwhile, lawyer to the Rumunduru people, Martins Anagor in an interview with correspondentĀ  explained what transpired in court.
Mr. Anagor also threw more light on the implication of the new judgment to the people of Eneka and Rumunduru
Also, an Elder from Rumunduru, Patrick Ikeguru said this new judgment has vindicated his community that the land they have been selling is genuine.
