Students Of GSS Mbiama Protest Decay Of Infrastructures, Non Availability Of Teachers

Students of Government Secondary School, Mbiama in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Friday, staged a protest over the collapse of infrastructure in the school

The students allege lack of chairs and sufficient teachers to handle their subjects but are required to write exams in those subjects

The students with various  inscriptions on placards  demand immediate recruitment or deployments of teachers to the school, Repairs and maintenance of school furniture, roofing  and provision of conducive environment for learning like their counter part in other cities . No description available.

One of the students Chinasa Okey,who Told newsmen that they decided to protest in order to get the attention of the authorities to the poor condition of learning in the school.

another student who did not disclose name said we are not happy, we have come to express our grievance, the school is not good for learning at all.

Another lamented that they are forced to sit on bare floors during lectures due to the absence of chairs or table, “we just hang around windows or you carry stone or block to sit down and write.

The principal of the school could not be reached to speak on the situation as at the time of filing this report.

An attempt to get the Rivers State Ministry of Education was also futile as at press time.
