Abia Resident Appeal To Gov. Alex Otti To Intervene in The Cult Related Killings/Clash Ravaging Aba

Cult related killings is ravaging Aba, the commercial city of Abia State as rival gangs now beheads their victims. The current killings and beheading of victims has caused a lot of apprehension in Aba as the residents called on the State governor, Alex Otti to intervene. In a case reported on 27th May, a young man simply identified as Ibechukwu, a non-cultist was murdered in cold blood allegedly by members of Aye (NBM) cult group. In a Facebook post by Naija Confra, a page that specializes on reporting cult related activities, said Ibe was shot, macheted and stone to death by the cult group. “One of the saddest cases we reported in the recent Aba cult clash was Ibe, a well-known NON-CULTIST, who was killed by Aye (NBM) cultists on his birthday, May 27. He was shot, cut, and stoned to death in the brutal video we posted on May 28.” “This case touched many people in Aba, including this man. If nothing is done about cult violence, one day the children of those in power—whether cultists or not, may become victims too.” Naija Confra posted on their Facebook page.
reports that Aye cult gang stormed the area where Ibe was celebrating his birthday targeting Vikings members, and Ibe who has Vikings friends was killed. A man who identified himself as Ibe’s brother said his brother was killed while celebrating his birthday on May 27th at Omenazu Street by Faulks Road, Aba. He added that Ibe’s death really touched him. He called on Governor Alex Otti to intervene. Seeking justice for his brother, the man said if nothing done, the killings will continue. In another reported killing, cult member, simply identified as Kelvin or Igara was murdered by rival gang in Samec, Aba. “Kelvin also known as Igara, was a member of Vikings (DNKI). He was killed last night at Samec by members of Aye (NBM). He was shot in the head, and sources say the attackers planned to behead him but stopped when people began to approach.” “Residents of Aba must know that the clash between Aye and Vikings in this part of the state is not slowing down, and the Abia State government has failed to act.” Naija Confra wrote on Facebook.

Also, another cult related killings in the month of May, reported by Naija Confra is a victim named Miracle, an alleged member of Aye (NBM), according to reports, he was killed by rival gang, Vikings (DNKI). Miracle was killed and beheaded by rival gang in Umueze, Abayi, Aba Abia State. “Naija Confra can now confirm that in the Sunday incident in Aba, Vikings (DNKI) cultists beheaded an Aye (NBM) cultist named Miracle, also known as Melody Burger. The incident happened at Umueze.” “Vikings claimed Miracle was one of those behind the recent killing of their member, and they’ve been trailing him since that recent attack. We don’t know the recent incident they are referring to.”

Governor Alex Otti, you may be praised for constructing roads, powering communities, and rolling out developmental projects, but let’s be clear: if the lives of your citizens are not safe, all that work amounts to nothing. Security is the foundation of every society, and right now, that foundation is crumbling in Aba, Abia State. The cult violence ravaging the streets is no longer just a concern—it is a crisis. And Abia State government should intervene to nib it at the bud as innocent non-cultists are also victims of this cult violence. AbaCityBlog calls on the Abia State Governor and Abia Police to act fast and stop this violence.
