Repost—Nigerians Must Condemn This Bigotry
Nigeria finds herself at a crossroads—and it’s high time we took a moral stand.
Just yesterday, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, reposted a vile, bigotry-laden tweet on X (formerly Twitter) that referred to her fellow citizens of Igbo origin as “gorillas,” “ungrateful,” and devoid of reputable ancestry. She added laughing emojis—a contemptuous glee that echoed across the nation.
Make no mistake: this isn’t a slip-up; it’s a provocation from a high-ranking public officer entrusted to represent all Nigerians. Its message is clear—and corrosive: “Egos before unity.” Let us not mince words: this is ethnic hatred in a position of authority, and it must be condemned in no uncertain terms.

A Disturbing Pattern of Ethnic Favoritism
This is not her first brush with divisive behavior:
A few weeks ago, she used her X platform to urge Nigerians to forgive Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAN1) for his disruptive antics at an airport. Critics accuse her of siding with the singer due to shared ethnicity, overlooking the gravity of his offense, and betraying public trust.
Previously, she has been accused of micro-aggressions and bias against the Igbo community, signaling a troubling pattern—not once, but repeatedly.
This is not an isolated lapse—it’s a consistent pattern of tribal favoritism and bigotry
