Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, on Sunday visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the incarcerated leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the Sokoto Correctional Centre.
The visit was confirmed by Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and his brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, who shared updates on social media.
Similarly, Emmanuel Kanu praised the visit, noting that the governor and the people of Sokoto had “made a unified statement” in showing solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu.
Governor Otti had previously declared, following Kanu’s life sentence, that he was committed to securing the IPOB leader’s release. He explained that he had initiated plans to work toward Kanu’s freedom even during the trial and vowed to continue advocating on his behalf
