There has been palpable tension in Rivers Community following the death of a Policeman yet to be identified by the police authority, setting the records straights the community development chairman of the community where the incident took place have come out to distance members of the community involvement from the crime and set the records straight..

The CDC Chairman of Amaku Mba Community . Kingsley Nwanyanwu in his Facebook Post wrote:-

“it was an ugly incident yesterday in Amaku Mba community that led to the death of one police officer by Army military personnel. The conflicts was between the military officers and police officers and not between Amaku Mba community and police officers.

While the community were burying one of their son who suddenly died at result of brief illness yesterday and a police van were passing along Amaku Mba federal road and saw people with Army uniform camouflage and stop where it resulted to a conflicts between Army military personnel and police officers that led to the stabbing of one police inspector.

We’re calling on the IGP and commissioner of police Olugbenga Adepoju to intervene and do a proper investigation and fish out those military personnel involved and not to allow his men disturb the peace of our community.

Since yesterday the police are patrolling around the community looking for innocent citizens to arrest and our old men and women are running helter scatter including the youths.

The matter is between Army military personnel and Police officers and not Amaku Mba community and police.

Hon. Kingsley Nwanyanwu.

CDC Chairman of Amaku Mba Community.
