A new commercial drivers Group has kicked off operations in Port Harcourt known as the Commercial Drivers Welfare Association CDWA
The coordinator of the new group Christopher Otu Ezeali told newsmen that the new body is made up of drivers in the transport industry.
He says it’s aim is to fight against road crimes such as multiple taxes, bullying on members by touts and to focus on the well being of it’s members operating on Nigerian roads, it’s national head quarters is located at no 220 old pH/Aba road Rivers State
“the body was established in order not to Short change nor compromise the oath of office, the trust and confidence the commercial drivers at the grass roots reposed on their leaders, mostly Comrade Christopher Otu ezeali who is their leader further highlighted that the decision to exit the former body! Drivers welfare club of Nigeria (DWCN) which him and his colleagues were formally operating with was to keep on maintaining their integrity and continuity of the mandate and promise he has on his followers.
Comrade Christopher Otu ezeali further stated that while exercising his right to freedom of association the process was not abused but all protocols was dully observed. He equally commended and thanked his co comrades/followers for joining him to the new body it’s shows the levels of trust and confidence bestowed on him and as such he vowed not to take it for granted.
