APC Compensates Fubara With Federal Appointment As State Coordinator For Withdrawing From Gubber Race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed embattled Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, as a State Coordinator in the party’s newly announced structure for the 2026 Presidential Primaries.

The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, following the approval of the guidelines for the conduct of the party’s presidential primaries.

According to the statement, the party also approved the composition of the Presidential Primary Election Committee, Appeal Committee, as well as the appointment of State Coordinators and Collation Officers ahead of the exercise.

Fubara’s inclusion in the list comes shortly after his withdrawal from the APC governorship primary election in Rivers State, a development that stirred political reactions across the state.Politics

Following his withdrawal, Ogundu Kingsley Chinda was later declared winner of the APC governorship primaries in Rivers State.

The APC said the decisions were approved by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) in line with the constitution of the party, the Electoral Act, and its commitment to ensuring a transparent and credible primary election process.

The statement signed by Morka noted that the party remains committed to conducting a smooth and credible presidential primary ahead of the 2027 general elections.
