A NEW BOOK TITLED “CITIZEN’S OBLIGATION FOR A BETTER SOCIETY” BY DR. VICTOR OKPUTE has been unveiled in port harcourt
At the unveiling of the book Chairman of the Occasion Barr. Daniel Atemie. described the author Victor Okpute as a focussed, hard working gentlemen who has passionately worked for the development of Oyibo Local government through positive media engagement and true activism and urge every lover of better society to get a copy and arm themselves with positive ways of engaging the government.
In his submissions the Book Author DR. VICTOR OKPUTE said the book was inspired by documented engagements aimed at positively impacting our world
He said the focal point of the book is the attitude we should portrays as citizens that we can make us refer to ourselves as responsible people. Noting that ‘The powers the politicians have over the electorates are the powers we gave them, be it right or wrong, those are the powers we hand over to them, so instead of complaining about our leaders we should blame those who vote them in, before any other thing like corruption can take place because greater percentage of people must vote them in to occupy such positions and those who vote them in are citizens’. SO WE ALL HAVE A DUTY TO ELECT LEADERS WHO WILL LEAD US ALRIGHT;.and if the person is not leading right? next time try a new person. he also noted that this book aims to reawaken our minds to the duties we have to better our society, which is a must decision we must make. He said this book will teach anyone who lays their hands on it, it will equip the individual with behaviors, and attitude required for all citizens
He also thank the Immediate Past Executive Chairman of Oyigbo local government Area HON.DR. GIft Okere, Who was represented by Hon.Precious Okija. and others who have contributed to the growth of Oyibo.
