British Court Rules That Ekweremadu’s Daughter Kidney Donor Is Not A Minor As He Claims
The Westminster magistrate court in the UK has ruled that David Ukpo, a KIDNEY donor for the daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, is not a minor. The court gave the ruling on Thursday when Ekweremadu, a former deputy president of the senate, and Beatrice Nwanneka, his wife, appeared before for trial.
Ekweremadu, who is representing Enugu West and his wife are facing charges bordering on conspiracy to arrange/facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting. Both Ekweremadu and his wife appeared in the court on Thursday and they pleaded not guilty to the charge of organ harvesting while the case has been transferred to the Central Criminal Court and adjourned till August 4.
