Rivers State Police Commissioner Tunji Dusi, has directed all Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical team Commanders, to carry out pre-emptive and responds raids of all identified Cult hideouts, black spots and hotels, to ensure that suspected Cult members, individuals and groups are arrested to face the law.
Also, Police Commissioner Disu, has advised Community leaders and local Security outfits to synergize and be vigilant, making sure they report any suspicious gathering or unusual activity in their area to the nearest Police Station for prompt action.
This follows an intelligent report, that a notorious Cult group New- Black Movement aka Black Axe, has scheduled a nationwide celebration of their purported founders day, with PH, as one of their base.
The Rivers State Police Command in a statement signed by its Spokesperson Grace Iringe -Koko, said the notorious Cult group and their Kingpins often engage in Armed Robbery, Killing, Rape , in addition to instigating inter-cult clashes and excessive violence particularly, in tertiary institutions and Campuses.
Furthermore, innocent victims are forcefully initiated into the cult among other criminal actions.
Religious leaders, according to the Police statement are also advised to hold Sermons with their congregation on the danger and evil of secret Cult emphasizing that the Security of this state, would not be compromised with any group, individuals intending to disturb the peace, we have worked so hard to achieve.
The Police in Rivers State has vowed they would not allow the planned AIYE DAY , celebration by the cult group to hold anywhere in the state as they have a duty to maintain law and order as well as protect lives and property.
