Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has again missed out on winning a Grammy Award, extending his run of nominations without a win to five.
At the 2026 Grammy Awards held on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Davido was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for “With You” featuring Omah Lay but did not emerge winner.
Davido’s “With You “ was nominated in the category alongside “Love” by Burna Boy, “Gimme Dat” by Ayra Starr featuring Wizkid, “Hope & Love” by Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin, and the winning song, “PUSH 2 START” by South Africa’s Tyla.
The Recording Academy honoured artists across nearly 100 categories at the 68th annual Grammy Awards, ranging from Album of the Year to Best New Artist.
The ceremony, hosted by Trevor Noah, featured performances from artists including Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, and aired on CBS and Paramount+.
Davido’s latest loss adds to a series of previous disappointments at the Grammys. At the 66th Grammy Awards in 2024, he was nominated but lost in three categories: Best Global Music Album for Timeless, Best African Music Performance for “Unavailable” featuring Musa Keys, and Best Global Music Performance for “Feel”.
He also missed out at the 67th Grammy Awards in 2025, where his song “Sensational,” a collaboration with Chris Brown and Lojay, lost the Best African Music Performance award to Tems’ “Love Me JeJe.”
