There was chaos at the popular Ballroom Club in Enugu after a young man allegedly splurged on expensive drinks, racked up a bill of ₦1.5 million, and then failed to pay .leaving club management with no choice but to detain him.
Eyewitnesses said the unidentified man walked into the club in high spirits, claiming he was celebrating his birthday. He reportedly ordered luxury wines, popped multiple bottles, and generously invited guests to take whatever they wanted.including two bottles of Glenfiddich 18 Year Old whiskey, among other high-end items. Eyewitnesses say he ordered a series of top-shelf drinks and partied until the bill mounted to an astonishing N1.5 million.
The drama unfolded when it was time to settle the bill. Club management requested payment, only for the young man to admit he had no money. Shocked by the revelation, bouncers quickly intervened, preventing him from leaving the premises.the young man is seen being confronted by club staff, who demanded payment. As his bank account was found empty, the management took the decision to detain him at the club pending the resolution of the matter.
Videos circulating online show a heated exchange between the man and club staff, with some patrons laughing while others expressed disbelief.
A club spokesperson confirmed the situation, stating that the young man was being held in the club’s VIP area while the management attempts to resolve the issue. “We cannot let this kind of behavior slide. Our establishment is known for giving customers a great experience, but we also expect that those who enjoy the luxury we provide are responsible in paying for it,” said the spokesperson.
The video, showing the young man looking visibly distressed and apologetic, quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions from the public.
