Enugu Set to Hosts Digital Transformation Summit, Boost Commerce In Southeast

In a show of collaboration between government, business owners and innovation leaders in the Southern part of the country, a tech firm, #StartupSouth is set to host a Digital Transformation Summit as a key pre-event leading up to #StartupSouthX.

StartupSouthX is the landmark 10th edition of the South-South and South-East’s premier innovation and entrepreneurship summit fixed for Friday, July 25, 2025, in Enugu State with the theme; “Powering Businesses Through Innovation and Tech.”

It is expected to bring together stakeholders across sectors to explore how to use digital transformation for unlocking of value, deepening resilience, and scale up high-impact ventures in Nigeria’s South-East region.

A statement by Adaeze Ngozi Chianumba, Co-Founder, DigitalMoms & Lead, #StartupSouth Enugu Community said the event is to be hosted in partnership with the Enugu State Government, through the Ministry of Innovation, Science & Technology, the Enugu SME Center, and the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy.

She said representatives from the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) and other leading organizations are expected to participate at the summit.

Speaking on the essence of the summit, Chianumba said: “This is more than a conversation. It’s a convergence of people who believe in Enugu’s digital future. We’re deepening momentum already building in the ecosystem by bringing corporate players into dialogue with founders and changemakers.”

For his part, Israel Unya, founder of YuSocial.com and Co-Lead, #StartupSouth Enugu Community said the submit is a pointer that Enugu State is now a major player in the innovation ecosystem.

“This summit is a signal that Enugu’s innovation ecosystem is no longer on the sidelines — we’re building a thriving community where startups, government, and corporate leaders collaborate meaningfully.

” It’s about turning momentum into real opportunity and ensuring local founders have access to the networks, tools, and capital they need to scale,” he explained.

The statement added that key highlights of the summit would include; panel conversations with corporate executives, founders and government actors.

It also said startups would have the opportunity to showcase their digital solution demos, live pitch sessions and investor engagement, and keynote addresses and a digital transformation marketplace.
