In a proactive effort to enhance security in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the upcoming months of celebration, police detectives from the Dei-Dei ‘B’ Division, under the directive of Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Olatunji Disu, psc, conducted a raid on a criminal hideout at the Timber Market, Dei-Dei, on November 21, 2024.
The operation, based on credible intelligence, resulted in the arrest of four suspects:
– Nura Halilu
– Salim Mohammed
– Saifullahi Usman
– Usman Mohammed
Investigations revealed that the hideout belongs to their gang leader, who is currently at large, and that it served as a hub for drug dealing, stolen phones, and other crimes.
During the raid, the following items were recovered:
– One (1) locally made gun
– Three (3) live cartridges and three (3) expended cartridges
– Four (4) knives
– A large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp
One of the suspects, Ismail Tasiu, also known as “Old School,” confessed to operating in the area for over ten (10) years. Another suspect, Nura Halilu, admitted to being part of an armed robbery and drug-dealing syndicate led by a fugitive named Murtala.
All suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution upon the conclusion of investigations.
