Fubara Rushed to Court to Stop Us Joining APC” — Rivers Assembly Leader Drops Shocking Claim

According to our report, Martin Amaewhule, leader of a faction in the Rivers State House of Assembly, has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of deliberately obstructing the legislature and using the courts to control political movement.

Speaking on SYMFONI, Amaewhule claimed that Fubara has consistently refused to cooperate with the Assembly, describing a pattern of interference that goes beyond policy disputes. Our findings reveal that the governor allegedly filed more than 50 court cases aimed at preventing lawmakers from defecting to the APC, a move Amaewhule says is unprecedented and politically motivated.Politics

He explained that these legal battles have created systemic barriers, paralyzing the Assembly and heightening tensions within the state. Despite the pressure, Amaewhule insists lawmakers remain committed to their constitutional duties, warning that the public has yet to see the full scope of the challenges imposed by the executive.

The governor does not want to work with the Rivers Assembly; he rushed to court just to stop us from joining the APC,” he said.
