Gov Fubara To Wike- Give Peace A Chance, You Can’t Win All Battle, Let Go Of Your Political Dominance”

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to let go of his animosity towards him and relinquish his desire for political dominance in the state for the sake of peace.

Governor Fubara made these comments during an appearance on Channels TV’s ‘Politics Today’ program on Monday, as he addressed the ongoing crisis in Rivers State.

When asked how he would respond if he encountered the FCT minister, he said, “I would tell him (Wike) that it’s time to move on. We need peace in this state; not every battle needs to be won. Sometimes, you just have to let go for the well-being of the good people of Rivers State.”

Commenting on the recent election boycotted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Fubara asserted, “I have the courage to take bold steps.”

“There is nothing I haven’t done to ensure peace prevails. I can recount the times I have humbled myself, even pleading for this issue to be resolved.”
