Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers last Sunday night, 17th Sunday, November, 2024 at Civil Defence road, Ahoada town, Ahoada East Local Government Area shot dead an okada rider simply identified as Innocent.
We learnt that the gunmen said to be three in numbers, had stopped the motorcycle rider along the road with pretence of boarding the okada.
Our source disclosed that the Okada rider reportedly put up resistance when he became aware that the mission of the gunmen was to rob his motorcycle.
We gathered that, amid the resistance, the gunmen shot the okada rider and carted away his motorcycle.The source revealed that few hours after the incident, the okada rider died at an undisclosed hospital where he was rushed to by his family members.
In the meantime, the incident has been reported to Ahoada Police Division in Ahoada main town.
