US President Donald Trump has announced the US will intervene in the ongoing protests across Iran which has led to the killing of nearly two thousand protesters by the Ayatola Khomeni government.

In a brief chat with the media at the White House on Tuesday, President Trump assured Iranians that “help is its way.”

It is not clear the mode of the “help,” it is, however, believed that military intervention is most likely an option.

According to the BBC, President Trump called on Iranians to continue “protesting” despite the hard-line position of the government which has led to crackdown on protesters and the shutdown of internet and phone services as a strategy to break the protests by disrupting communications.

Trump briefly spoke and thereafter departed the White House in company with his Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

BBC reports that US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) say that “1,847 protesters have been killed in Iran since the demonstrations began on 28 December.”
