Nigeria’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has updated its official portal, recognising the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following today’s landmark Supreme Court judgment.
The apex court set aside the earlier “status quo” order imposed by the Court of Appeal and effectively restored David Mark’s leadership, pending final determination of the case at the Federal High Court.
This development marks a major turning point in the prolonged ADC leadership crisis, as INEC had earlier de-listed the Mark-led executive in compliance with previous court orders.
With the Supreme Court’s decision now in force, INEC’s recognition signals a shift that could reshape political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections
