Addressing journalists, Biden warned Iran against attacking Israel. Biden said, “We are devoted to the defence of Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed.” Asked about his message to Iran in the wake of the threat, Biden said, “ Massive explosions rock Israel as Iran launches attack using dozens of drones and missiles Biden said he wouldn’t be able to reveal secure information, adding that his expectation was that an attack could come “sooner, rather than later.”
A US intelligence reports says Iran is planning to attack Israel in the next 24 to 48 hours. According to Wall Street Journal, WSJ, no final decision has been taken on the planned attack which are being discussed by Iran’s top leadership. WSJ said Israel is preparing for an attack on either the southern or northern part. “The strike plans are in front of the Supreme Leader and he is still weighing the political risk,” WSJ quoted an adviser to Iran’s Supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as saying.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Arabic News, in a post on its verified X platform accompanied with a photo of over 500 drones, the statement written on Arabic language, reads فَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ مَّنضُودٍ, which means; “when our command came, we made the highest part of it of the lowest part, and rained down upon it stones of compacted shale“. Also, Iranian allies, Russian and North Korean leaders, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, have declared that Russia and North Korea will support Iran if the United States of America attacks Iranian soil in support of Israel.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards confirmed early Sunday that a drone and missile attack was underway against Israel in retaliation for a deadly April 1 drone strike on its Damascus consulate. “In response to the numerous crimes committed by the Zionist regime, including the attack on the consular section… the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired dozens of missiles and drones at specific targets inside the occupied territories (Israel),” state television quoted a Guards statement as saying. Operation Honest Promise is “being carried out with the approval of the Supreme National Security Council under the supervision of the General Staff of the Armed Forces,”
the Guards statement said. Within minutes of the launch, the account on X of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei reposted his pledge that the “evil (Israeli) regime will be punished.” Almost an hour after the drones were launched, the Guards fired a “first batch of ballistic missiles at targets deep in the occupied territories (Israel),” the official IRNA news agency said. The April 1 strike, which was widely blamed on Israel, leveled the five-story consular annexe of the Iranian embassy in Damascus and killed seven Revolutionary Guards, two of them generals. The BBC news states that Israel’s Iron Dome is not capable of defending from Iran’s complex attack.
