Jealous Man Stabs Female Lover To Death In Mile2 Diobu Over Allegation Of ‘Cheating’

There was pandemonium at Okereke street, Mile 1 Diobu on Sunday night, 17th August, 2025 as a man simply identified as ‘Doctor’ allegedly stabbed his female lover nicknamed Ima to death.

Report say the man had accused his female lover of cheating on him,which led to an altercation between both of them and in the process, the Man allegedly used a knife to stab her to death.

We gathered that the caretaker of the compound on noticing the development quickly rushed to Azikiwe Police Division, Mile 2 Diobu, PortHarcourt to make a formal complaint on the incident and the prime suspect was arrested .

Meanwhile there was mammoth crowd of sympathizers and onlookers who gathered outside the Azikiwe Police Division on Monday morning, 18th August 2025 when the corpse of the lady was brought to the station.

Our reporter outside the Police station observed that the corpse of the lady was taken to undisclosed mortuary by the Police few minutes after it was brought to the station.

The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command,SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident. SP Koko said “the suspect has been arrested and the Commissioner of Police CP Olugbenga Adepoju has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, PortHarcourt for discreet investigation

In the meantime, the National Coordinator of Centre for Basic Rights Protection And Accountability campaign, Prince Wiro, Who also noticed unusual gathering at the Azikiwe Police Station has called on the Police to ensure justice.

“This morning while I was walking along Illabouchi Mile 2 Diobu PortHarcourt . I saw mammoth crowd at Azikiwe Police Division and I enquired what happened, I was meant to understand that the Police arrested a man simply identified as Doctor for allegedly killing his female lover at Okereke street, Mile 2 Diobu..

“While we were there, the corpse of the lady was taken to undisclosed mortuary while the suspect was detained.

“We are calling on the Police to ensure a thorough and unbiased investigation with a view to serving justice on the matter.

“I want to use this opportunity to advice young persons that toxic relationship is not what you will endure. People should walk away from toxic relationship. There is no relationship that is more important than your life. You cannot be in toxic relationship in expense of your life”. Mr Wiro said.
