Kamala Harris Vows To Defeat Trump, Officially Declares To Run For President, After Majority Endorsement

The Biden-Harris campaign has formally amended filings with the Federal Election Commission to rename its principal committee and declare Kamala Harris a candidate for president.

This move means that should she remain on the ticket for the general election, according to the Campaign Legal Center, Harris could assume control of the Biden-Harris campaign account, which had nearly $96 million cash in hand at the end of June

Kamala Harris, the Vice president of the United States of America, was endorsed by the Louisiana delegation to the Democratic National Convention, DNC.

The VP was given the nod to run against Republican Donald Trump after a virtual meeting in which it held a vote, in which Harris won an “overwhelming majority”.

Speaking after the vote, the Louisiana Democratic Party Chair, Randal Gaines, who also chairs the delegation to the convention, thanked President Joe Biden for stepping down from the presidential race.

. This announcement comes shortly after President Joe Biden endorsed her candidacy, amidst rising concerns about his age and health.

President Biden, who has been under increasing pressure to step down from his re-election bid, cited the need for a unified Democratic Party and a strong contender to lead the country.

Following his decision to withdraw from the race, he expressed his full support for Vice President Harris, emphasizing her qualifications and leadership skills.

Harris, in her declaration, vowed to ensure a Democratic victory in the upcoming presidential election. She stressed her commitment to addressing the nation’s pressing issues and uniting all factions within the Democratic Party.

According to Harris: “I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination.

“Over the past year, I have traveled across the country, talking with Americans about the clear choice in this momentous election. And that is what I will continue to do in the days and weeks ahead.

“I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party — and unite our nation – to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.

“We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win.”
