A teenage girl was kidnapped by ‘One Chance’ robbers in Obio/Akpor Last two weeks.She is 15 year old.After she entered the vehicle, at gunpoint they took her to unknown destination,demanded Ransom from her parents. They threatened to kill her in four days time if the ransom of 30 million is not paid.Finally the Kidnappers gave the parents of the girl a SPORTY BET account to fund it with over ten million naira they accepted to collect.After two days of sending the money to the SPORTY BET account,she was taken by two of them and dropped around Oilmill,where she begged a taxi to take her to her house.
Why Kidnappers Now Prefer Sporty Bet Account:
NIN,BVN,Phone number, Passport photograph is not needed to open it.
Is done on-line and upon registration, they provide you with what is know as SPORTY BET ID.
The ID is ten digit number.If money is transferred to the SPORTY BET account,there is a withdrawal button where the owner of the account will touch and input the bank details he or she want the money to be transferred to,from the SPORTY BET account and the money goes to his desired Account.
SPORTY BET does not have office in Nigeria.
The matter was reported to a sister agency to Nigeria Police Force that promised to take up the matter.The incident got to me but the Victim’s people said since they have reported to that particular security agency no need to report to the Police.
This is a new trend of ransom collection that from the criminals perception,the mode of collection is safer for them.
Is now left for the security agencies to device a way to apprehend these criminals.
