Drew Kohn, a man once hailed as a ‘modern-day miracle’ for awakening from a coma after 244 days, recently lost his life when he was hit by a pickup truck.
In 2017, just before his 23rd birthday, Kohn was involved in a severe motorcycle accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury, two punctured lungs, a broken shoulder, and injuries to his ribs and pelvis.
Medical professionals initially believed he was brain dead and would never regain the ability to walk or speak.
However, Kohn defied these expectations, emerging from his coma 244 days later and making a remarkable recovery.
Sadly, in July 2024 (last month), just over seven years after his awakening and days before his 30th birthday, Kohn was struck by a pickup truck while walking.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
