NA 6 Division Reacts To Publication On Army Children School GRA 2 PHC Says Facility Is Owned By The Rivers State Govt

The Headquarters of 6 Division, Nigerian Army (NA) has reacted to our recent publication on the current state of Army Children School Port Harcourt.

Lt.Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, Acting Deputy Director, 6 Division, Army Public Relations, in a statement on Saturday 14th, September, 2024 which was forwarded to EastWestReporters.com clarified that the facility, which is located at GRA 2, Port Harcourt, is solely owned and run by the Rivers State Government and not the NA, as insinuated.

Lt.Colonel Danjuma disclosed that the correct name of the school in question is Army Children Model School GRA 2, Port Harcourt.

“The NA has been proud to have numerous schools, efficiently run by the Nigerian Army Education Corps, with some of the best facilities and top-notch teachers nationwide. This essentially accounts for the high level of patronage for NA schools and the excellent performances the products of the schools exemplified over time” Lt.Colonel Danjuma said.

He further advised media practitioners to get their facts before publication .

The Spokesperson of 6 Division Nigeria Army added that the NA remains committed to being responsive to the general public.

It would be recalled that EastWestReporters.com had published a video showing the state of a school located at GRA phase 2, with the title; See Why Pupils shun Resumption At Army Children Sch. PHC GRA.Over Dilapidated structure” as reasons which made pupils not to resume but the NA 6 Division in the statement by the spokesperson said the school is owned and run by Rivers State Government.

However we wish to state without prejudice that EastwestReporters is a trusted media organization focused on developmental journalism and not a rumour mill outfit as insinuated by NA 6 division spokesperson, we also wish to state categorically that the write up did not accuse NA or any arm of government of Negligence but solely to bring it to the attention of government the state of the school in question for optimal learning experience for the Pupils.

Our publications is a call for action to whom it may concern and no Blackmail whatsoever is intended, as lives of children not related to us are involved here.
