NAPTIP Appeals To The Public To Report Child Abuse In Daycare Centres

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has urged Nigerians to report credible information on alleged child sexual abuse and misconduct in daycare centres nationwide.

In a statement released on Tuesday via its official X handle, the agency said it is committed to investigating concerns highlighted in recent public discussions and viral social media posts.
“Following recent public discussions and concerns raised regarding alleged incidents of child sexual abuse/misconduct in daycare settings in Nigeria, we are committed to thoroughly investigating credible reports,” the statement read.

NAPTIP appealed to anyone with factual information, evidence, or direct knowledge of such incidents—including those personally affected—to contact the agency confidentially.

“We kindly request anyone with factual information, evidence, direct knowledge, or who was personally affected by the matters referenced in the viral posts or related experiences to reach out to us confidentially via DM or email at info@naptip.gov.ng,” the statement added.

The agency emphasized that its mandate includes protecting children from all forms of exploitation, including sexual abuse, and encouraged prompt reporting to safeguard vulnerable children in daycare settings.
