A Nigerian man has taken to social media to express his frustration after a car he successfully bid on for ₦4.5 million through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) auction mysteriously vanished from the website, with his details reportedly erased.
The man shared his ordeal on X (formerly Twitter), accusing the EFCC of misconduct in the bidding process. According to him, he had placed a winning bid for a Toyota Camry on the USBU-A auction platform, but when he revisited the site the following morning, the car had disappeared from the listings, and his information had been wiped from the system.
He further alleged that the auction was awarded by the EFCC to another bidder who did not participate in the process. “I bid for a Toyota Camry on USBU-A and won the auction, but when I checked this morning, my details had been removed from the site. It was another bidder who didn’t even participate in the auction that was listed as the winner,” he claimed.

The auction you conducted yesterday was a sham! In a bid to rig the system, the incompetent auctioneers you engaged allowed a bid of N350,000,000,000 for a Lexus RX 350 Jeep. It’s not a glitch. It’s a deliberate attempt to gate-keep others from bidding.

I even bid for a Toyota Camry on USBU-A and won that particular auction only for me to wake up this morning and my details has been wiped off from the website. Also noticed that it was another bidder entirely who didn’t participate in the auction that was posted as the winner.
