The controversial Nigeria Air aircraft Boeing 737-800 with the registration number, ET-APL, has returned to service in Ethiopian Airlines stable.
Checks from a live tracker, Flightradar, show that Ethiopian Airlines is now using the same plane which was brought into the country for “static display” during its unveiling at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, by the former Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Hadi Sirika, last Friday.
The aircraft was said to have returned to Addis the next day.Ethiopian Airlines had removed Nigeria Air branding from its aircraft and resumed regular operations, 24 hours after representing Nigeria Air for the unveiling ceremony on May 26th.The aircraft was said to have departed Addis-Ababa at 1:31 p.m. and arrived at Mogadishu at 0:03 a.m. on Wednesday as a commercial aeroplane.
The reasons behind the temporary branding and subsequent removal remain undisclosed by Ethiopian Airlines and the Nigerian government.
