Former Senator representing Adamawa North and one-time Military Administrator of Plateau State, Colonel Muhammad Mana (rtd), has passed away.
Family sources confirmed that Mana died Friday evening in Abuja, days after being discharged from an undisclosed hospital. He hailed from Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Mana served as Plateau’s military administrator between December 1993 and August 1996 under the late Gen. Sani Abacha.
He later became commander of the Presidential Guard Brigade during Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar’s regime before being elected Senator in 2007.
His funeral prayer was held Saturday at the Abuja National Mosque.
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, described Mana’s death as “a painful loss,” praising his role in fostering peace and development during a critical period in the state’s history.
Mana is survived by wives and children. Tributes continue to pour in from leaders and citizens across the country.
