A suspected car thief has been arrested in the Marine Base area of Port Harcourt after weeks of reported vehicle thefts following the completion of a new access road.
The suspect, identified as a panel beater from Osun State, was caught on Tuesday night during an attempted car theft, while his accomplice, an auto electrician named Udo from Akwa Ibom State, escaped.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crimes and revealed details of the syndicate involved in buying stolen cars. He has since been handed over to the police for further investigation.
