Ogidi Mourns As Two Families Bury Kidnapped Illustrious Sons Over Worsensing Insecurity in Anambra

Grief and anguish hang heavy over Ogidi in Idemmili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, as two promising young men are laid to rest today. 21/02/2025 | Ogidi, Anambra State Their only crime? Being born in a state where insecurity has become the order of the day.

Kidnapped, ransom paid, yet still denied their right to live. Their tragic deaths have become yet another painful testament to the unchecked wave of insecurity and violent crime that has engulfed Anambra under Governor Soludo’s administration. For three years, fathers have been forced to bury their sons, mothers bury their daughters. Families torn apart. Dreams shattered. And a government that remains unmoved.

Among the fallen is Late Mr. Obinna Okwuosa, the only son of Dr. Okwuosa. Today, a frail old man will do the unimaginable, bury his only child, his heir, his pride. A father’s worst nightmare, a tragedy that could have been prevented. Despite the ransom paid, Obinna succumbed to the injuries inflicted by his kidnappers. A senseless, avoidable loss.

Beside him in death lies Late Godswill Amobi, a young man with a bright future. His only offense? Choosing to live and work in the state he called home. Kidnapped. Murdered. His lifeless body discarded inside his own car; another chilling reminder of the brutality that has become all too common in Anambra.

These atrocities, and countless more persist because the Soludo-led government has deliberately turned a blind eye to the cries of its people. While families mourn and communities crumble, those in power remain indifferent.

But we will not forget. We will not be silent. And we will not stop demanding justice for the innocent lives lost to a crisis that should have never been allowed to spiral this far.

Ogidi Mourns! Ozoemena 😢
