The National Leader Igbo bu Igbo South East Forum High Chief Henry Obiajulu Uzozie, Director of Henry Marshall foundation has congratulated the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Siminalayi Fubara on a successful conduct of the just concluded Local Government Council elections that held across the state on Saturday 5th October 2024.
In a statement signed by the national Leader said that the election was free fair and credible, adding that the outcome demonstrated the commitment and wishes of the people of Rivers State to institute a democratically elected local government administration irrespective of the palpable fears that prevailed prior to the election.
Chief Uzozie also congratulated the elected chairmen under the Action Peoples Party (APP) , adding that power belongs to the people and that the electorates have decided on what they want..
He further commended the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for rising up to the occasion in ensuring that the local government election was conducted peacefully under conducive atmosphere.
Chief Uzozie used the opportunity to commend the security operatives and other stakeholders for their peaceful conduct before during and after the election. He urged the elected chairmen and councilors to ensure that good Governance prevail at the local government level being the third tier of government nearest to the people.
National Leader Igbo bu Igbo Southeast forum Chief Henry Obiajulu Uzozie also assured the governor of rivers state that all the Igbos’ residing in river’s will continue to cooperate with his government for the good of the state.
