The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has tendered a heartfelt apology to the sick gubernatorial candidate of the party in Rivers State, Mrs Beatrice Itubo over his inability to see her while in the State two days ago.
Recall that Obi and his vice, Dr Yusuf Datti on Thursday were in Port Harcourt as special guests of honour for the commissioning of Nkpolu-Oroworokwo flyover.
While describing it as an oversight, the former governor of Anambra State in a statement said during the few hours he was in Port Harcourt, nobody informed him about the health condition of Mrs Beatrice and if they did, he would have visited her before or after the event that brought him to the state. He however, wished her quick recovery and also reassured Mrs Beatrice of their good working relationship.
The statement reads, “My sincere apologies to Mrs Beatrice Itubo, the Labour Party candidate in Rivers State for an inadvertent oversight. When I visited Port Harcourt a few days back, I was not informed or aware of her sickness.
