The Egbeda Police Division in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State has arrested a suspected renegade repentant cultist James aka ‘Cross and Die’ over the crisis that erupted in Ubimini community last week Saturday which led to the death of Mrs Ruth Osah, a Pregnant woman and Mark Orduize a member of local Vigilante known as EMOLVIS .
We gathered that ‘Cross and Die’ was arrested on Wednesday following credible intelligence and is being detained at Egbeda Police Division. We learnt that the suspect who is said to be a repentant cultist allegedly went back to his old ways and started recruiting and arming boys for nefarious activities in the community.
Our source disclosed that the local vigilance group, EMOLVIS last Saturday went in search of ‘Cross and Die’ when one of the Vigilante personnel accidentally shot the Pregnant Woman. Some Youth on revenge mission was said to have killed a member of EMOLVIS and burnt two houses belonging to EMOLVIS personnel in Ubimini community in retaliation to the killing of Mrs. Ruth Osah.
Comrade Ikechukwu Wordu, President of Ubimini Youth Council confirmed the arrest of ‘Cross and Die’ to our reporter.
In an interview with our reporter Comrade Wordu said
“His name is James Onuoha aka ‘Cross and Die’. He is in custody at Egbeda Divisional Police headquarters. I am calling on Inspector General of Police, Commissioner of Police to make sure they interogate him very well so that he will bring the pump action gun and he will also mention the names of members of his gang in my community.
“My advice is that the Youth should remain calm and nobody should cause any disturbance again in my community that is my advice to my Youth”
The Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police command SP Grace Iringe Koko was yet to respond to text messages by our reporter as at press time on the recent development .
Recall that the violence halted the Presidential and National Assembly election in the community last week Saturday.
SP Koko had earlier confirmed the incident last week Saturday in Ubimini and added that preliminary investigation showed it was not related to election while efforts are on to bring the perpetrators to justice.
