President Bola Tinubu has directed the nationwide distribution of rice to support citizens observing Ramadan and Lenten fasts. The directive was conveyed to the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political support group for the President, by its Director-General, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The initiative aims to promote national unity and demonstrate compassion during periods of deep spiritual significance for both Muslims and Christians. Uzodinma said the exercise reflects the President’s commitment to inclusivity and care for citizens.

“Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another,” Uzodinma stated. “Through this distribution, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will ensure that families across Nigeria feel the spirit of togetherness during this sacred period.”
The distribution will be coordinated through the group’s nationwide grassroots network, ensuring that both Christian and Muslim communities benefit. A similar initiative was carried out during Christmas, highlighting the administration’s focus on supporting citizens during key religious and cultural periods.
