‘Report Any Form Of Abuse By Any Police Officer Within The Command”-New Rivers CP Okon Effiong Charges Residents
CP OKON OKON EFFIONG, ASSUMES DUTY AS THE 43RD COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, RIVERS STATE.
The Rivers State Police Command is pleased to inform the general public that CP Okon O. Effiong, has assumed duty as the 43rd Commissioner of Police, Rivers State. He succeeds CP Eboka Friday, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police and now in-charge of Zone 16, Yenegoa.
CP Okon Effiong has advised residents of the state to be of good conduct before during and after the election.
CP Effiong in a maiden briefing at the Command’s headquarters urged youths to desist from thuggery during election as the command will not take it lightly with any group of persons that will disturb the relatively peace enjoyed in the state.
The Commissioner who informed that the command will take proactive measure in tackling insecurity enjoined criminals to turn new live or leave the state.
The new CP who stated that Human Rights abuse will not be tolerated under his watch , called on residents to report any form of abuse by any officer under the command.
Commissioner Effiong urges all residents in the state to remain confident and trust in the ability of the police to dutifully discharge it’s constitutional mandate of ensuring public peace and security.
He also pledges to be discreet and professional,run an open door policy, therefore invite all to join hands with the police to make Rivers State a safer and better place to live in.
