Revive Moribund Industries To Reduce Unemployment In Rivers State- NUJ Chairman Appeals

The Nigeria union of journalist has Appealed to Government, well meaning citizens of the state to urgently look into the issues of reviving all Small scale companies, Big industries that once operated in the state that have gone moribund due to several reasons with the aim of reviving them to boost employment and scale up Job creation.

The state NUJ Chairman Stanley Job Stanley made the call while receiving sets of Office furniture donated by SIAT Nigerian Limited to the union in port Harcourt. Mr. Stanley Job Stanley while thanking SIAT company for listening to the Yeaning and cries of the Union by donating the sets of furniture said SIAT that was formally Rison palm is one of the few companies that have large employments of Rivers people working in the company and urged the company to do more by venturing into others areas that will also create many more opportunities for Rivers youth.

The NUJ Chairman also expressed worry over the rising unemployment NBS statistics ratio of the State and wondered why well to do People, Rich Individuals from the state do not venture into deep sea fishing despite the huge water surrounding and opportunities available in the Aquatic sector. He called on government and well established men and women from the state to look into the issues of reviving dead factories, industries and companies that can create huge employments for Rivers people and also yield huge returns on investments as the world divest from Oil era.

He also noted that lots of Industries Located within the Trans-Amadi industrial layout have gone Moribund and needs funds to be injected into them to create employment. he said Government can assist in the areas of tax rebate, injecting funds and also partnering with local investors specialized in such areas to revive some of the industries as government alone cannot employ everybody

Speaking on behalf of SIAT Nigeria Limited, the Public Relations Manger Mr. Lucky Ezihuo said that the company has enjoyed a good working relationship with the host community, the Government and members of the Fourth estate of the Realm.
He Noted that SIAT Nigeria Limited as a company has been in long standing relationship with Nigerian union of Journalist,  NUJ right from Rison-palm and now to SIAT hoping that the gesture will strengthen and boost their long standing relationship and also solve the issues of lack of office furniture’s for the union

He hoped that the gesture will assist and also boost the work of The chairman and Secretaries and urge them to put the furniture to good use.
